About Us

Established in 2007. Rooted in Nature. Driven by Science. Committed to Wellness.

Founded by Dr. Robert Onyemaechi Uzu. The company was incorporated on 12 November 2007 under the name “Ruzu Natural Health Products & Services.”

The company began very humbly: Dr. Uzu reportedly started producing herbal remedies with just ₦2,500 in a small room apartment. Early on, the products were packaged in basic “ragolis plastic bottles,” without proper labeling or regulatory approval.

Dr. Uzu personally sold them, even on public buses, for several years. Over the years, the company grew, upgrading its operations. Their factory — now located in Igando, Lagos — was equipped with modern machinery, moved from the early “room apartment” beginnings.

Ruzu emphasizes its transformation from a small-scale herbal business into a serious manufacturer of herbal medicines, with several dozen (now reportedly around 47) different products, all processed under hygienic conditions.

Basically, Ruzu claims humble roots, grew by perseverance and belief in herbal medicine, and eventually matured into a formally incorporated, factory-based producer of herbal health products in Nigeria.

Vision & Mission Statement

Their core mission is to offer effective, natural herbal solutions promoting health and wellness — giving Nigerians (and beyond) access to traditional-herbal medicine as a viable, affordable alternative. As Dr. Robert Uzu puts it, they aim to “create a healthy society through the use of herbal medicine.”

Another part of their mission is economic empowerment and entrepreneurship: rather than just sell products, Ruzu has built a distribution/network marketing model (via Go-Wellness Worldwide) that lets individuals become distributors — helping people earn income while promoting herbal medicine.

Their vision appears to be making Ruzu not just a local herbal brand, but a household name across Nigeria (and possibly beyond), contributing to national health, creating jobs, and elevating herbal medicine’s status. In past statements they’ve expressed a goal of becoming “the largest producer of herbal products in Africa.”
